There are a number of ways you can get involved to ensure high quality care and education becomes a top priority for our policy makers and communities. Your advocacy also ensures WECA can continue to offer the top notch services to early childhood professionals that are critical to laying a foundation for learning for our young ones.
What you can do
- Keep up-to-date on WECA's blog.
- Sign up to receive WECA Action Alerts.
- Write a letter to your legislators. Share a personal story about your commitment to our state's children. You can find out who represents you and how to reach them here.
- Get to know your local legislators and their staff members. Offer to serve as a resource on early education issues.
- Invite legislators to visit your program. While they are there, take a picture of them with the children and send them a copy with a thank you note.
- Participate in a current advocacy campaign.
- Add your elected officials to your newsletter mailing or emailing list. Let them learn about all the great things you do everyday.
- Spark discussions in your community about the benefits of high quality early care and education.
- Engage parents in advocacy activities and educate them on the importance of well-educated and supported staff.
- Write a letter to the editor of your local paper.
- Set a good example.
